Today I wanted to share with you all a recap of my brother’s wedding from over the weekend!
It was basically a 7 day holiday weekend with the wedding & Christmas all being in the same week.
December 23rd, 2012
The wedding recap of Philip (my brother) & Angela.
Saturday – Rehearsal day!
*Started the morning off with a POWER PARFAIT of my
Gingerbread Chia Oats topped with a vegan gingerbread HEALTHY BITE! OMG.SO.GOOD.
*Then headed to get our nails done!
Gotta love little 9 year old cousin in her diva chair.
After the rehearsal, headed to dinner with everyone!
*I had some gluten free pasta with spinach, sundried tomatoes, pine nuts, feta, & shrimp!
I find that if I’m going to eat animal protein, seafood tends to work okay in moderation.
I also find that dairy in the form of cheese (mostly feta, if any) doesn’t hurt my stomach either!
These foods in moderation work for me!
Remember, BE TRUE TO YOU!
*Ang gave all the of the bridesmaids these gorgeous wrapped gifts at the rehearsal dinner!
*My brother & his best man didn’t even plan it but wore matching socks & his pants matched my brother tie!
Can you tell they’ve been bff’s for 23 years?
*Picture opp at the church with my cousin Kelsi!
My belt is actually a Premiere Designs necklace that I borrowed from a friend & turned into a belt.
The rehearsal was great & the food, family, & memories is what I will always remember!
Now onto the WEDDING DAY!!
Morning started off with all of the pampering – we all chose hair styles from Pinterest, duh!
*My Pinterest Hair Inspiration!
*lots of amazing snacks provided by some bridesmaids!
*gorgeous display!
*I’m obviously not opposed to bringing my own meals either!
It also takes pressure off of the host so they don’t have to worry about providing proper meals.
I brought my Balsamic Quinoa Salad – recipe coming soon, with a ton of roasted veggies & kabocha squash!
*The bride & I in our robes that she bought us to get ready in!
*all of our dresses hanging patiently!
*All prepped & ready with mamacakes in her amazing red dress!
*The bride opening her gift sent from my brother!
*Getting Angie into her dress!
*Angie’s sister, maid of honor, & her mother getting her prepped!
*Sisterly love!
*The bridesmaids.
*Pretending it wasn’t 30 degrees outside while taking pictures!
*On the gorgeous trolley waiting outside of the church.
*on our way to the reception with the wild groomsmen!
*My gorgeous flowers!
*We danced all night…and flexed for some pictures, obvi.
*Gotta include the boy in some pictures!
*My handsome brother & I !
*My brother, me, Toni, Angie, & their brother Donny!
*The next morning we had an amazing brunch at the hotel!
Big bowl of oats, berries, & raisins! I also had an egg white fritatta – I was very hungry and wanted to order more!
I eaat plant based 95% of the time and I find that my stomach can handle animal protein in moderation!
Remember, BE TRUE TO YOU! I do what works for ME!
And from all of that dancing, my metabolism was raging – in a good way!
It was such a gorgeous wedding & definitely a weekend I will never forget!
To be able to spend it with our closest friends & family was truly a blessing.
They got married on their 10 year anniversary (December 23rd) – they are high school sweet hearts!
I am so happy to be able to call Angie my sister-in-law now; after 10 years, it’s been a long time coming!
CONGRATS TO THE NEW MR. & MRS. ARENA!
Have you been to a wedding lately?
-This is the first wedding I’ve been to since I was an adult.
I was in one when I was younger as a flower girl but other than that –
this is my first time being a bridesmaid!
