Good afternoon everyone! Hope you’re having a great Monday!
I am getting back into the swing of things after being away at the Arnold Classic all weekend!
Thanks to a nasty head cold…I almost didn’t make it there; hence the slippers & hot tea.
But, after lots of green tea, napping, & nasal spray – I felt about 80% better on Friday so I made the drive! My best friend Kate lives in Columbus so it was also great to spend time with her while working at the expo! I will be doing an Arnold Recap soon to share with you my awesome time that you may have been following along with on Instagram! It was hard to get service at the Expo but I tried my best to post some pictures!
I wanted to quickly post about the #PowerbowlADay Challenge on the Challenge Loop APP starting TODAY!
It is so easy to join!
Don’t forget to first upload your picture on the ChallengeLoop site & then post it to your social media with the hashtag so I can keep track!!
One of my most recent favorite ways to get in some extra greens on my #powerbowls is to add spirulina to my dressing! We all know I love this green POWERHOUSE ingredient & thanks to Nutrex-Hawaii I’ve been experimenting like crazy with the Spirluna Powder in the kitchen!
Ingredients
- 2 TB Hummus of choice
- 2 TB Nutritional Yeast Flakes
- 2 TB Coconut Vinegar
- (or vinegar of choice)
- 1/2 TB Vega Omega Blend Oil (or Olive oil) optional!
- 1 TB Water
- (or more depending on how thin you want it)
- More water = thinner of a dressing!
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- (I used fresh squeezed)
- 1 tsp Spirulina Powder
- 1/4 or 1/2 tsp dill weed
- 1/4 or 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 or 1/2 tsp of smoked paprika (optional)
- a few drops of liquid stevia (I used about 5 or 6) – you can use any sweetener!
- Sea Salt & Pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients together and pour over your #powerbowlAday!
(I get a few of these on www.iherb.com – coupon code XUG228 for a discount for first time users!)
I have to say, when I first ran out of my Nutrex-Hawaii Spirulina, I had another knock-off brand that I had in my pantry. It honestly didn’t taste the same at the high quality Nutrex-Hawaii Spirulina. It gives this dressing a nice earthy taste with a creamy green kick! Just in time for Saint Patty’s day!
If you continue to participate in the #PowerbowlADay challenge – you have a chance to win some Spirulina of your own!!
I’m off to run some errands, train a client, & then CrossFit! Have an amazing Monday!
Be true to you,
Kasey
