#RESTWEEK is off to an incredible start. Browse through the #RESTWEEK tweets and you will be so inspired. Know that, just by participating, you are helping others. When a group of like-minded people come together with positive intentions, they help others to think with positive intentions too. And you’re doing that. So, thank you!
Annie journaled her heart out yesterday morning and felt inspired to tackle the day!
Alyssa spent some time meeting up with friends; something that she wanted to focus on!

Hey everyone! Kasey here. Welcome to day two of #RESTWEEK! Throughout this week, Heather & I want to focus on nourishing our minds and our bodies. Heather is a boss at keeping you connected with your inner guide and I like to think that I am a boss at creating some recipes to help nourish your body!
I want to share a cleansing morning drink that I enjoy every day upon waking, after my own version of morning me time. I have found that my morning routine is something I cherish. When that alarm goes off and Colbie Caillat sings to me, my first steps out of bed are towards my window. I open my blinds and let the natural light shine in. I take a deep breath and proceed to stretch. I have found that my body is so thankful for this and I feel more energized throughout my morning.
After I get my blood flowing, I head to the kitchen to mix up my favorite morning drink: an Apple Pie Power Cleanser! Now, before you start thinking “cleanse” in terms of a way to lose weight, I’d like to kindly stop you right there.
The word cleanse can be used in many different ways. We can cleanse our mind by taking a nice, long deep breath or cleanse our bodies through a plant-based detox. It doesn’t always have to be associated with a fad diet to lose weight. This cleanser is called a power cleanser based on the POWER foods it includes.
After (hopefully) 8 hours of rest, our bodies have done all of the necessary recovering and repairing throughout the night. Upon waking, we are a bit dehydrated and a great way to get our insides squeaky clean and rehydrate is with my Apple Pie Power Cleanser!
Ingredients:
- 16 oz of water (I suggest room temperate – no one likes a brain freeze at 7am!)
- 1 Tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 of a lemon – freshly squeezed
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 10-20 drops liquid vanilla (or plain) stevia or 1-2 packets stevia powder
Directions:
- Combine all of the above ingredients into a large 16 oz glass.
- I suggest drinking with a straw because the vinegar can be harsh on our teeth.
This is a great way to kick-start your digestion and other bodily functions. This drink may also help with any constipation issues because it works to get things “moving” if you know what I mean! Hey, everybody poops! And if you aren’t, we need to talk more because that is a vital part of a healthy gut. Do yourself a favor when you wake up and rehydrate that beautiful bod of yours so that you are more than prepared for your AWESOME day ahead!
RESTweet Mantra
Hey guys! Heather here. I love that Apple Pie Cleanser so much! Kasey is a genius in the kitchen.
Today’s mantra gives you the opportunity to start changing the relationship you have with food. One of the best things we can do before eating is tune into our bods and remember why we’re eating food. Ultimately, we aren’t eating food to lose weight. We aren’t eating food to gain muscle. We are eating food to fuel us through life. Food is the key that ignites the engine that is our body. It literally fuels us to show up for life and be the best versions of ourselves.
I this mantra every day before every meal and snack, and it has been a huge game-changer in my three years of sober recovery from anorexia. Even if you haven’t suffered from an eating disorder, this mantra will really help you to develop a deeper and more compassionate relationship with food. Set a reminder on your phone or computer before you eat your lunch or snack today. Seeing this pop up will not only make you smile but it will improve your experience with food.
When a large group of people come together with a positive and healing-based intention, they have a great capacity to inspire others and impact other people in a big way. Don’t let this message stop here. We need you to share this beautiful message. Tweet it with the #RESTWEEK hash tag. Share it on your Facebook wall. Instagram it. Give your followers an excuse to fall in love with their bodies too.
Stay lovely and #beTRUEtoYOU,
Heather & Kasey
