hi all! Hope you had a great day after your long weekend! It’s not always easy to get back into the swing of things but you’re one day closer to the weekend!

I’ve been spoiled this past week with an AWESOME workout partner every morning. My friend Jenna and I have been able to get some workouts in together while I’ve been visiting. It’s so nice to have a buddy to push you & be able to get some pictures of some workouts! Since I am usually riding solo at the gym.

Sometimes I even look at this picture & forget who is who!

Jenna is getting married in less than two weeks & has been making so many awesome improvements in her strength over the last few months! She’s working super hard, challenging herself, & getting stronger, all while finding a love for weight lifting. We are so similar – if you can’t tell by our almost exact unplanned color combo outfits this morning it’s been so fun to have a workout buddy these past few days who is up for anything I come up with, mostly on the spot, in the gym!

Over the weekend we did some leg work, which we are STILL feeling today, & we included these Dumbbell Bench Step-Ups.

Isn’t it crazy how the amount of light in the pictures can make you look like you’ve never seen the sun? ha! go me!

Anyway, Step-Ups are one of my favorite moves to do during leg days (or any day for that matter). They can be incorporated in any workout!

  • Pick two dumbbells (or straight bar with weight) that will provide a challenge.
  • Find a bench or box to step up on.
  • Place the full foot flat on the bench, push through the HEEL of the foot, & “step-up” to standing.
  • You can either alternate feet or continue to step up with the same foot.
  • We did 10 on each side & we did these in between 3 sets of 15 glute bridges.

Try them out & let me know how it goes!! Winking smile I love to learn that you guys are doing some of my posted workouts. Just like the adorable Lauren did this morning on Instagram! IMG_6738

I wanted to end by shouting out to the lovely
Rachel who posted shared this on my timeline this morning.

She said, I pass this sign twice during my runs ~
it’s always like you’re here cheering me on”

For those who don’t know, Arena is my last name Winking smile
So thank you Rachel for sharing this beautiful picture.
