Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you enjoyed your weekend so far.
Yesterday was a jam packed day of friends, fitness, family, & fun! I was going to say a total “f” day but wasn’t sure about how that sounded…even though I still said it now? ha, anyway! My Saturday started off with an awesome WOD at CrossFit.
As many of you know, I am working on the #whatsbeautiful campaign with FitFluential & Under Armour Women. They were SO kind to send me & my fellow worker-outers some adorable neon yellow seamless tanks to work out in! It was perfect timing because 4 of us ladies are celebrating our birthdays within one week of each other. What better way to spend your birthday then working out with a group of inspirational ladies in bright colored UA tanks?
Saturday WOD
10 Thrusters
30 Pull-Ups
10 Thrusters
30 Sit-Ups
10 Thrusters
30 Ring Dips
(prescribed weight for women was 65lbs for thrusters)
It’s safe to say that this morning was one of those morning when you get out of bed & instantly foam roll. It’s also safe to say that today is a REST DAY for this girl. I moved from my bed, to the foam roller, to my kitchen to make a green smoothie, to my couch to post up & watch my favorite channel ever, the Food Network. #ILoveSundays
Anywho, back to the WOD – it was a packed house at Iron City so we did everything in heats! Which made it easy to snag some pictures of these strong ladies crushing the workout.
* It was pretty cool to look around & see all of the ladies in their UA tanks.
We definitely were hard to miss!
*Always important to get a good warm-up in before a workout.
Thrusters & I have a love/hate relationship.
I did the WOD with the 65lb weight but I swear it always feels like trying to life 1,000 pounds. If you’re not sure what a Thruster is, you can check it out here thanks to one of my inspirations Christmas Abbott. It’s a great full body movement that utilizes all aspects of your body! It can also be done with dumbbells if you don’t have a straight bar.
*Birthday girl Johnna reppin’ out her Thrusters.

Next, Pull-ups!
*Pretty cool shot of the ladies doing pull-ups
& our boy Al straight through the middle!
Just seeing all of these strong ladies was motivation in itself.
There are a lot of different ways you can do pull-ups.
*I suggest using chalk to protect your hands or some tape. As you can see my hands above You can kip a pull-up, do a strict pull-up, butterfly a pull-up, or use resistance bands to assist!
*The thicker the resistance band, the more assistance you will get.
*Must of been ladies day at the bar.
*My girl Neen repping out some awesome kipping pull-ups!
*Birthday girl Kodi doing kipping pull-ups with a small resistance band.
Which is a great option for those looking for a little assistance with their kip.
*Neen at the end of the WOD showing off her hand stand skills!
This girl is so strong & amazes me every day.

Special thank you to Under Armour & FitFluential for the awesome tank tops!
Great work was done by everyone yesterday & that’s #whatsbeautiful.
For some more inspiration check out some of these ladies doing what they do best.

After a great morning, I spent the afternoon catching up on computer work. I’m leaving for vaca the day after my birthday this week so I’m getting all of the blog stuff caught up on! After hours in front of the computer, I was looking forward to spending some time with my family & friends at the Hard Rock Café in Pittsburgh. My brother’s band Before You preformed there! It was a late show so we enjoyed some drinks while waiting for them to start.
*I spy Jed & Jason through my wine glass
The boys did a great job & sounded awesome.
Watching my brother perform never gets old.
Enjoyed the view of the fountains while overlooking the city.
Ran into my girl Heather from Fit n’ Cookies! She is now a bride-to-be and I’m so happy for her!
Side note: Heather & I were college roommates our sophomore year of school. \
Finished the night watching fireworks over the water with the city lights. Perfect way to end the day. Do anything fun this weekend? I’d love to hear about it!
