hey all! Happy Wednesday! Anyone busy getting things together for tomorrow’s big Turkey Day!? My sister-in-law is hosting this year and I cannot wait to enjoy some family & friend time while enjoying some awesome food. Speaking of food –it’s that time again! Time to clean out the good ol’ iPhone camera roll (that is constantly overloaded) & share with you some recent EATS! Winking smile

Seems fitting right before Thanksgiving, right?

The past few weeks I’ve had the chance to eat at some of my favorite places with some favorite people…aka my family, friends, & boy. Let’s start out with a lunch date with the man himself….my Pap! (hiiii Pap!) He reads my blog daily Winking smile love him!

We went to a local spot for lunch called Monte Cello’s and I got a grilled chicken salad with onion, greens, dried cranberries, dried blueberries, & walnuts! I honestly haven’t eaten much chicken lately…I think I was “chickened out” from my years of over-doing the animal protein, but this salad was really good – especially with dried berries! I looove dried berries. And I also loove spending time with my Grandpa. He is such an amazing support system throughout everything I do & I am very thankful for our relationship!

One of the main highlights of the last week – GLUTEN FREE PIZZA at a local place called The Oven Pizza Co. They serve gluten free versions of all of their pizzas so we got the seasonal Butternut Squash, caramelized onion, & sage pizza as well as a greek style with feta. DELISH.

After a Saturday morning spin sesh, the boy & I met for some brunch at Bartram House Bakery! HOLY CRAP this place is loaded with not only amazing meal options but is truly a jewelry store for baked goods!

I got a omelet with greens, tomato, onion, & avocado. Side of oatmeal with honey & berries. Corey got an omelet with house made wheat bread. Perfect way to refuel the muscles with a powermeal! We both enjoyed coffee per usual.

This brunch kept us full as we spent the late afternoon at The Collin & Brad Show! Both from Who’s Line Is It Anyway – were performing locally & it was hilarious! I totally recommend seeing them if they come to a town near you.

I really have to confess something…

I always go into Marshall’s looking for clothes & end up leaving with FOOD! Anyone else do the same? I swear Marshall’s & TJ Max have the best deals on unique foods! Juts check out these orange slices with no added ingredients! They are delish & really great in hot green tea as well.

When it comes to sharing recent eats, it’s all about just being true to you! We all may not eat the same but we can just accept that fact & who knows, maybe you’ll inspire someone to try something or somewhere new! It’s also been a big challenge for me over the last year to really allow myself to just relax & enjoy different foods – aka pizza, etc. Foods I used to deem “unhealthy” and “off-limits”. Now, I’m all for making most of your eats fueling foods that help nourish your body – but I also think for a happy mind, allowing yourself moderation with other foods and simply just enjoying all types of foods is something I’ve worked on over the last year. If you ever need some tips with overcoming this “fear” of foods, please e-mail me Kasey@Powercakes.net!

Enjoy the rest of your day – I’m off to get some errands done & do some shoulders at the gym; my favorite day!

be true to you,

Red heart Kasey

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Tomorrow I’ll be running a Turkey Trot with two of my best friends in the morning & then spending the rest of the day at my sister-in-laws!

That salad from Monte Cellos is my FAVORITE! I get it everytime we go there– the dried berries are fantastic!

This Thanksgiving will consist of me playing in my first ever Turkey Bowl with the boyfriends family– so excited! Then lunch at his house followed by dinner at mine =)

    Have a great Thanksgiving Kasey!
