Hey all & HAPPY MONDAY! Hope you’re having a good start to your week! Not too long ago, right before my trip to the IDEA FIT Blogfest last week, I had a chance to go back home for a few days for a Wedding.
Reunited with my broski & mamacakes (unpictured papacakes who was working that day).
It was nice to go back (not too long after I moved away) to see my family, friends, & clients!
As well as being reunited with my kitty cat – Abby. (this was a video so excuse the blurrrr)
While home – I really took advantage of having a few days to just enjoy my time.
I got to spend a ton of time with mamacakes and eat lots of good food ;] literally though…lots of good food.
It was about a 3 hour trip to the wedding (congrats Morgan & Donny!) so on our way home the next day, we definitely had to make a pit stop for some breakfast!
Cracker Barrell – our go to! Anyone else? They have tons of options for all kinds of tastebuds.
I got the blueberry pancake stack with a side of eggs and turkey sausage. Plus coffee…always coffee.
I usually care some Stevia Drops in my purse and this weekend I had some Now Foods Istant Tabs with me that you can literally just drop into your coffee and they dissolve! You can find them on iherb.com coupon code XUG228 for a $5-$10 discount!
Later that night, Papacakes grilled up some signature burgers.
Grass fed burger with grilled asparagus, corn, roasted potatoes, & side of a pickle.
What are your burger essentials? Mine are ketchup, mustard, & pickles.
The next morning I took Mamacakes class that she teaches and she kicked my butt…

We then grabbed some breakfast at Pamela’s diner (a famous spot in Pittsburgh!). I got an omelet with cinnamon raisin toast, tomatoes, & coffee.
We spent the afternoon shopping downtown for some ingredients for a family dinner later. We decided on spaghetti –
We found a spinach gluten free pasta that we used as the base with a tomato sauce with ground turkey and a side of roasted broccoli. My Grandma always served broc with spaghetti so I was craving the combo.
For dessert…..oh yes we did.
We picked up some Peace, Love, & Little Donuts while shopping in Pittsburgh and they did not disappoint. As a family, we cut samples of different ones and shared around the table.
Some of the flavors were samoas, maple bacon, birthday cake, coconut, cookie dough, & cinnamon sugar. I truly believe that live is all about balance & enjoyment. Yes I love healthy food but I also allow myself to enjoy all types of foods in a balance that works for me. #betruetoyou
Not too long after this I was on a plane to LA and my time at home came to an end. I loved seeing my friends & family. I won’t be home for a few months but that’s what this new adventure with Corey is all about! We are loving being together and are really looking forward to each new day.
It’s so nice to be in a state of mind where I allow myself balance with food and my family can see that in me. For too long restrictions ruled my life and I was unable to enjoy my time with my friends or family. Now, working on BODYpeace daily, I’m in a much better place and I can only wish that for everyone.
I hope you have a great start to your week and we’ll chat soon friends!
be true to you,
xo Kasey
