Hi friends! I hope you are well during this time.
Do we all kind of feel like Kita looks in this picture?
The Queen in her natural habitat wrapped up in her favorites blanket(s).
Now, I will say, that I personally haven’t spent all days on the couch during quarantine, but I have used this time to really focus on self-care.
Life prior to this time was definitely busy and go-go-go, but I personally was used to and liked that pace. As a Traveling Trainer, I’m often going from one place to the next but was definitely putting my own self-care on the end of my priority list, even though I knew I needed to do better in that area.
My anxiety spiked during this time and I quickly realized there were things I needed to be addressing mentally that I think my busy lifestyle often pushed aside.
I started going back to Therapy (via video calls), which has been a GAME-CHANGER for me as it always has been. I knew I needed to get back into seeing someone and there was no better time than now to devote that time each week for help.
I’ve gone to therapy since I was 10 years old and it has always been so helpful for my anxiety.
On top of therapy (which is my #1), I’ve also been doing magnesium salt baths with a few drops of lavender oil multiple nights a week to really just let go and relax.
I’m still teaching 5x classes a week via Zoom and trying hard to balance those days with mobility, stretching, & yoga to focus on what my body needs for recovery.
I’ve also been spending more time finding a simple skincare routine that I’ve been staying consistent with & also utilizing some other recovery tools like this CBD body butter from my friends at Ned.
My friends at Ned were nice enough to send over their hemp infused body butter as well as their CBD oil.
I wanted to touch on each product as it relates to my life and maybe how it can be beneficial to yours as well.
Their body butter is made in small batches that make it rich in Vitamin A, C, and E, nutrients, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. They state that it can revive your skin while stimulating blood flow.
I’ve been using this after I take a bath on different aching parts of the bod.
I’ve used hemp infused products for years now but never really stuck with one company. When I started to research Ned, thanks to Mind Pump Media‘s podcast recommendation, I loved what their company stood for and the quality that they shared.
I know information on CBD products can be confusing, so to put it simply, CBD oil is cannabinoids that are the compounds within hemp flowers that offer functional support for our body’s endocannabinoid systems.
In Ned’s full spectrum oil, Terpenes and cannabinoids work together in maximizing the effects of one another to help support stress, balance, mood health, and beyond.
Others have said that it can be helpful with inflammation as well.
I’ve personally used CBD oil to help with anxiety and have noticed it helpful to take before bed to help with my sleep.
You can find a whole list of their educational articles here to learn more.
This oil will not get you high, but does have a very “hemp-y” taste for lack of a better term.
As always, I never say anything is “magic” but when it comes to CBD, consistency will be key to potentially see benefits.
The company recommends starting with a smaller dose and then working your way up from there. I personally can take a larger dose, as I’ve been using it longer, to help with stress and falling asleep at night.
They even have a full line for Menstrual relief called the “Natural Cycle Kit“.
All of their hemp is grown in the sunshine in the fresh soil of Paonia, Colorado & sourced directly from just a few small farms. Ned works with the farmers to select strains of non-GMO hemp known for superior cannabinoid and terpene profiles, effectiveness, and flavor.
After learning more about the company, I respect their transparency and commitment to quality.
