Happy Friday all! This week has been something else – Spent the day yesterday being mamacakes sidekick as we encountered a little health scare. She was having some jaw pain over the last day that was causing lots of nausea. The doctor insisted we get her checked out at the ER as this could be a sign of a heart attack. After spending a few hours at the ER and tests that were done – we found that it was just some nerves that were causing this and we didn’t need to worry about cardiac or brain troubles.
Very happy to say that we are now home & she is feeling much much better. Thanking God. A day like this can put a lot in perspective.
We may have days where we may disagree or act like arguing sisters but in the end, family matters a whole heck of a lot.
Tell your loved ones how much you care ️ and supporting them through hard times as they would do the same for us.
In the theme of Valentines day – why not make it an extra priority today to tell those around you how much you love them. Life is one crazy ride and it’s important to let those around you know how much you care.
Due to her jaw pain – simple food has been the best option. All day she kept requesting my Avocado Pudding so I picked up some Organic Whipped Cream at Whole Foods & made her some Chocolate Hazelnut Avocado Pudding!
Ingredients:
- 2 TB Cocoa Powder or Coco Cardio Beet Powder (my favorite!)
- 2 TB Chia Seeds
- 1/2 of a Ripe Avocado
- 1/2 Cup or 1 Cup (depending on how thick you want it) of Unsweetened Vanilla So Delicious Coconut Milk
- A few Drops of Hazelnut Liquid Stevia
You can find the Coco cardio, chia seeds, & hazelnut stevia at iHerb.com coupon code XUG228
Directions:
- Add all ingredients into a blender
- Mix until combined.
- Let sit for a few minutes & it will thicken nicely!
- Top with whipped cream – optional but delicious!
Speaking of some Valentine Theme recipes – my girl @ThisLittleChickPea made my Coconut Flour Chia Jam filled Power Muffins for a V-Day treat!
These definitely inspired me to make these again soon!
Now that you’re hungry for some chia seeds – we’ve got a double Power Plate challenge coming to you today! First up, Cross Arm Plank.
- With a tight core, bring your arm across your body to the opposite side
- Return back as you repeat with the other arm.
- This is a challenge as we are used to using our legs to do the movements –
- Try this out to get your arms involved!
We’ve also got a Reverse Plank which means you are in a Table Top Position.
You can either work on taking one leg out at a time – or pull yourself across the floor backwards just like we did in the Plank Pull.
Make sure to keep the glutes (butt) TIGHT & same with the legs and core. Work in small movements to avoid any wrist issues.
Don’t forget you can still join in the Challenge by clicking [here]!
It’s also Friday which means it’s time to Feature a friend!
Today my friend & photographer Abby Kail from The Vintage Button Photography (who recently just took some of the pictures you see on the site! She’s SO talented!)
Abby is doing a Giveaway with a local Restaurant (Pizza Shop & Gelato) called Mercurio’s. You can enter by following Abby on Instagram & going into the Mercurio Restaurant in Pittsburgh! How fun. Winner will be drawn on the 16th so why not make some Valentine’s plans for some pizza & gelato? Sounds delish to me.
I’m off to get some errands done, meet with a new client, then head to a Wrestling Tournament because that is a typical way for Corey & I to spend our Valentine’s! ;] have a good day guys!!
Be true to you,
xo Kasey
What are you plans for Valentine’s day? Baking anything fun? Heading out with your boyfriend or girlfriends for a girls night? Staying in and wearing sweatpants?
I would definitely take any of the above!!
