Hi all! Winking smile
So today I’m sharing a VLOG
about my decision on eating less meat protein
& trying to incorporate more raw foods & plant based proteins into my diet!

I’ve also reduced my coffee consumption;
CRAZY I KNOW!

I love my coff;
but I realized I was over-doing it
so I cut that down to 1 to 2 days a week!

I feel great!

During VLOGS;

yup, I like to blink.

  1. Kasey! I feel like we have a lot in common, especially with our stomachs.. I have ALL the same issues. Coffee too. I gave up coffee about 5 months ago, and entered green tea into my diet. It’s a lot easier on the adrenal glands too. I also am limiting my animal products. Can’t wait for your challenge and to here more about this plant-based journey! <3

Oh Kase, I hope you know how much I love you! I truuuuuly hope to meet you some day, girl. I really really hope so <3 I hope to meet Abby too πŸ˜‰ What a cutie HA! <3

So, when I heard that you mentioned me I instantly got tears in my eyes, love. Oh, hunnie <3 Thank you <3 I am so glad we are friends through the blog world, but hope to be real life friends, too!

So, when you said that you did some reading and even if you don't completely agree with it or not, etc. AHHH I cannot agree more! I love learning and researching different things even if I don't totally agree with it 100% that's how we form opinions! πŸ˜€

Great vlog sweetheart. I really am so so happy you did this because I have been looking at your meals very closely lately (since you've reduced your animal protein intake) and become so inspired each time! XO

I have definitely altered my diet throughout my life. One thing that I've recently noticed is how FAT gives me so much more energy!!!!!! πŸ˜€ HAHA especially the fat in those egg yolks eh babe?? πŸ˜‰ HAHAHA Oh Kase, you are much too cute.

    Love you! XO

I will be responding to your email today xoxoxo

  3. Great video Kasey! I’m so excited for you about your business!!! I think it’s so great that you are listening to your body and giving it what it needs! Can’t wait for what’s to come from you!

  4. Jill Hanner says:

So interesting. I was a veggie for 16 years and eating gluten. When I stopped eating gluten I ate meat b/c I didn’t know what else to do. I still have issues, but they will never be resolved.

  5. I’m so excited for your challenge with Heather! πŸ˜€ I love your listen to your body advice – I think our society is overly obsessed & worried about protein consumption (esp from animal sources). Studying holistic nutrition has introduced me to new ways of eating intuitively and proper food combining- I feel amazing! I used to be so worried about trying to balance a carb:protein:fat ratio with EVERY meal & snack. I also used to think I was sensitive to many types of foods, but later realized I was overwhelming my digestive tract with too many food groups in one sitting. Good luck on your continued wellness evolution! πŸ˜€

It’s so true!! I used to think I had to eat 1 thing at every meal but now I find that when I eat a lot of veggies, a healthy fat, and protein – my digestion is better, especially when I eat protein at the end of my meal!! I definitely want to look more into food combining! ;]

Awesome Video today Kasey!! Listen girl I totally know and understand what you have been dealing with!!

I think that it is SO important to listen to your body because what works for some, may not work for others. The digestive system is such an amazing system in the body. Being a holistic nutrition student, man we focus on digestion like its God! (it pretty much is) It controls everything!! I am glad you have found your trigger points because our bodies are always evolving and changing and that’s why its sooooooo important to rotate the food we eat to keep our bodies in line!

    Keep it up!!
    Steph xo

    • Kasey says:

Thank you Steph!!! It’s so true – Digestion has been the cause of so many of my problems throughout my life – still working on things but not afraid to try things to figure it out!! You are so inspirational as well! <3

  7. Brittany says:

Kasey I love your vlogs πŸ™‚ I haven’t really cut anything out because I love all foods under the rainbow but good for you for listening to your body. You’re definitely an expert at that!

  8. Very interesting! Loved your vlog. I was actually pascatarian for about three years, but then I started eating meat again and that worked for me. However, I still have THE worst stomach/digestive issues and haven’t figured out exactly what is causing it all. I tried cutting out gluten, and I thought I felt better until the tummy problems started up again, so I started eating gluten again and was fine. Strange, but it’s a learning process. Love that you can listen to your body, too. I’m all about that πŸ™‚ I love Heather, I am definitely looking forward to the challenge you are going to do with her!

  9. I have tummy issues with a lot of vegan & vegetarian foods so…. I don’t ever see myself going all vegetarian but I try to do 1 or 2 days a week non meat….

As for your vision – yes, you are young & do it now! Take it from an old fogie like me, it becomes very very hard when you get as old as I am….

  10. Can I just say you were adorable in this? I love your approach, try but not get caught up in the fads. Listening to your body is key what an inspiration.

  11. This sounds almost exactly like what happened to me! More and more, I realize that meats and dairy just weigh me down, and I don’t love the way it makes me feel. Good to hear that plants are working for you πŸ™‚
I cant wait to hear more about your business – so exciting!

  12. Z says:

I just bought some BCAA’s and L-Glutamine and can’t wait to start taking them see how they affect my workouts and recovery time. So exciting! I was just wondering when you would recomend taking them? I’m thinking the Glutamine right after in my protein shake but I’m not sure if the BCAA’s are better taken before durring or after? Any insight you have will be a great help! Thanks so much

    • Kasey says:

Hi there! I take my BCAA’s before, during, and after my workout – basically I mix them with a my drink that I take to the gym! ;] Also, I take Glutamine after my workouts and before bed to help with muscle recovery!!

  13. Amber zuckswert says:

Kasey! Thanks for the shout out. I’m so glad you found those books as powerful as I did. Continued education is crutial. I’m so proud of you. Would you ever dare to go vegan or raw for a short amount of time? It would be a cool experiment for sure. You know I’m here for you in all of your epic endeavors. Happy weekend and keep rocking superstar.

    • Kasey says:

Thank you miss Amber!! <3 I should totally try raw or vegan for a challenge and see how I do! I'm already almost there, with exception of wild caught fish and omega 3 cage free eggs. BUT would totally be up for the challenge! Thank you for the support!

  14. Valerie says:

Love your energy and enthusiasm Kasey! Glad to hear you are exploring “alternative” ways of eating, especially if your animal protein intake was not free-range, grass-fed beef and chicken. Hopefully you are eating wild-caught, cold water fish. Our food has become toxic and unrecognizable to our bodies as sustenance. I would encourage you to do some research on the Omega-3 boosted eggs. After years of food allergies, and a cancer diagnosis I did a 180-turn about 10 years ago (was a old-timer bodybuilder from the late 70’s and ate so much protein powders, and animal protein, even raw when I could as I believed the body assimilated the protein more readily, not sure if that was really so :/ ) anyway, I went vegetarian, then vegan, now trying to obtain balance. Raw food started giving me problems with my teeth after about 9 months, so had to change up a bit. In any event, wanted to encourage you in your search for what works for you and what is right for you. My prayers are with you for great success on your new business endeavor. Definitely do it now while you are young and full of energy. Blessings. You are adorable and really refreshing even after 16 minutes πŸ™‚

    • Kasey says:

Thank you so much!! <3 Yes, we eat all free-range, grass fed, animal proteins in our family! We are very serious about that. I also do buy omega 3 boosted cage free eggs - usually from a local farmer! Thank you so much for your story - totally inspirational!!!

  15. Melissa says:

    Kasey-
You are so funny!! I’m sitting in my my living room watching your video and cracking up! I’m so happy to hear you’re following your dreams and starting a business, good for you!! So glad I discovered your blog, it’s so much fun and you’re so inspiring. Also I love that you emphasize living a healthy lifestyle and not doing it to maintain a certain # on the scale. I think the scale is ridiculous too, if you feel good and your clothes fit the same as they always do, who cares about what someone weighs. You rock girl!! ;)))

  16. Kristen says:

I gave up coffee 4 years ago. Like you, I still have it once or twice a week but never in the morning. For some reason I always feel better and more energized when I start my day off with green tea.

Best of luck with your new business ventures. πŸ™‚

  17. Oh my gosh, I love how you talk with your hands! That reminds me so much of one of my friends! πŸ˜‰
Good luck with your new business!!

  18. BABE-AYYY! I just love you. If we weren’t 8,000 miles away from each other, I know that we’d hang out all the time. Damn separation! Anyways, I loved your vlog and I love how CHILL you are about listening to your body and doing your research. You make my heart swoon. I’m so excited to get this ball rolling with you! #plantPOWER what what!?

  19. Lisa says:

Man, can we ever relate in the stomach trouble. I think I have problems experimenting with my diet to overcome these digestive disorders, because of my history with an ED and am scared I’ll get “sucked in” to another diet and lose too much weight again. Its a hard thing to figure out! I’m happy to hear you are doing the best for YOUR body! Your vlog is awesome, and it’s great your incorporating some more vegan/plant based eats instead of meat products! Can’t wait to hear more about this business adventure. I love Heather, she’s a sweetie pie!

  20. Lauren Marks says:

Kasey, can I just say you hit the nail on the head with me. I know I sent you my food log to ask your opinion but I have had an ah hah! moment for sure. I recently picked up a book on the Paleo lifestyle because my boyfriend has been eating this way. He would always say just try it, and of course I would be stubborn and say no I need my grains and dairy! Let me just tell you I have tried it for 3 days now and I feel so light. I am an ice cream lover and still am, but my body can not tolerate dairy. I mean it completely rejects it, I get the usual upset stomach, bloating and gas. I have also cut out the gluten and cut down on animal protein in my diet. I feel like my body is saying thank God you are listening to me now! Everything you said in the video is so true and a lot of people don’t listen to their body. I would feel the same way you would, fine when I would woke up but gradually become bloated throughout the day. For so long I would go everyday with a stomach ache and thought well this is what I have to do to get results…and now that I don’t have stomach aches I feel amazing. I was so used to it I thought it was normal, when it was not at all! Any way, I just want to say thank you for all the information on your blog, I look forward to reading it everyday! And I love me some Kombucha, makes my tummy feel AWESOME!

    • Kasey says:

hi girl!! I will be replying to that e-mail!!! But it’s so important to listen to YOUR OWN BODY! LOVE IT! ;] also, I hear ya on the food! I love eating whole foods now and I can handle oats but other things don’t do well with me! I can do dairy too but when I’m craving I obvi don’t mind eating it! ;]

      You rock! <3
