This October, thousands of women will join in a one of a kind adventure to collectively run 24,901 miles which is equal so the circumference of the Earth & benefit some amazing girl empowering charities.

Empowering young girls is something I feel very strongly about being that 6 out of 7 of my days I am training girls ages 9-18. It’s something that I fell into when asked to be a strength & conditioning coach in Pittsburgh to an amazing group of Tennis athletes.

Every since that day, in 2013, I have become so passionate about helping young girls not only find strength through training, but find self-confidence & believe in themselves like they’ve never done before.

Seeing the look of accomplishment on their faces whenever they complete a challenge or pull a new deadlift weight is something that inspires me to do what I do daily.

In October I will be teaming up with If Girls Ran the World with a goal of logging miles & raising $250 for Girls Inc. under TEAM TRUE TO YOU FITNESS! (click the link for our actual fundraising team page!)

As part of my participation with If Girls Ran the World, I’m giving away three entries to the month-long event (valued at $25) which gives you the opportunity to make your miles count with us during October.

As someone who struggled with an eating disorder for the past 4 years, I know what it is like to not feel comfortable in your own body and wish you were something you were not. In the past 2 years I have learned that confidence comes from within and it is much better to be strong and healthy then to starve the body that works so hard for you. I have begun working hard to repay my body for all that it does for me and I would love to help others discover this realization.

This sounds like a great empowering event. I’d love for my teenage daughter to work with her dance team to raise money for girls around the world
