Good Morning all! Happy Wednesday! With some exciting things from the beginning of the week like the Under Armour Giveaway Challenge & my Carrot Cake French Toast Recipe, my weekend recap got a bit pushed back! Which is all good though because recapping on a Wednesday is making me look forward to this weekend even more!
Mamacakes & I decided to get our tree up & decorate on Friday. Every year it’s been our tradition to do this together & I look forward to it every December.
We grew up getting a real tree every year but since we are traveling this year to visit family over Christmas we get a real pretty [not real] tree. Not real because I think the words fake & artificial are a bit negative & I really like our tree! ;]
Anyone elses cat or animal make a new home right under the tree? Our cat Abby looooves hanging out under the tree..
In our house, we turn on the Christmas music, the fireplace, grab a glass of wine, & make some homemade pizza! I came across this Brown Rice crust at a local health food store with just two ingredients – Brown Rice & Potato!
Took 1 crust, topped with sauce, veggies, feta, olives, organic pepperoni, butternut squash, fresh thyme, & fresh rosemary!
DELISHHHHHH.
The crust was super crispy & tasty! I am definitely a fan. I also always have extra red sauce to dip in!
And everything is always better in a Reindeer wine glass! I always get excited to get these out every year.
With every year brings out the lovely little angel that I once was ;] and still am! This is my mom’s favorite ornament & I just really love that we tried to cover up my cowlick & widows peak with some bangs.
Another favorite of mine is this Blessed ball from my Aunt Kelli. Just a simple reminder how blessed we are to be able to do this together every year.
After the bow is on top we take time to enjoy our work & hang out in the living room by the fireplace.
I won’t be living at home forever but I do plan on keeping this tradition going every year with my mom, pizza & wine included!
I think it’s important to really take in these moments since I know the Holiday’s can tend to be hectic or stressful for some people. I really don’t let it get to that point & just look at it as a fun time & make the most of each memory.
I’m off to a business meeting then teaching a class later on – Hope you have a great Wednesday!!
be true to you
