As a Personal Trainer, I am often asked “So Kasey, how do I get a six pack?”.

This question often doesn’t sit well with me and I instantly respond, “You mean…how do you get a strong core?”

I personally think with social media & all types of body image issues that we are faced with daily has made their be a big focus on a chiseled middle. This idea that we can all have perfect midsections something I see people obsessing over.

In all honesty, some people are just genetically lean in their midsection so having visible abs is something they are used to – where there are others who are built completely different. 

I personally think we shouldn’t focus so much on our outward appearance, obsessing over attaining “abs”, BUT instead let’s work to focus on building strength with a STRONG core.

Whenever I was dealing with my Eating Disorder in College, “abs” were all I cared about. I remember looking in the mirror and WISHING that a 6 pack would appear and if it didn’t – I would restrict more & more of my food & work out more and more to get it.

There is no need to live your life like that, people!

Our core is our CENTER.

A strong core = a strong center of your body where all of your limbs route from.

Did you know?…

  1. Our core is a complex series of muscles, extending far beyond our abs.
  2. Our core includes everything besides your arms and legs.
  3. It is incorporated in almost every movement of the human body.

For my first FREE series, I am focusing on CORE and how you can work on building up your center strength.

This isn’t going to be a 3 part series filled with crunches…this will be a 3 part series of short routines you can incorporate into your weekly training for months to come.
