She Who Pushes You, Powers You.

Happy New Year, friends!! I hope you had a great Holiday season and are ready to take on 2019.

A big goal I have this year is to really embrace my power. By this, I mean, that I want to continue to stand up for myself, stay true to myself, & be a role model for other females to find their voice in their passion.

There is one thing to find your passion, but there is a whole other level once you find your POWER within that passion.

Growing up with a mom as a Personal Trainer, I watched her command a room with motivation & positivity. I saw her harness her power as a female in a predominately male dominated profession & be an entrepreneur before it was totally “accepted” to create & do your own thing.

When I was a kid hanging in the corner of the group fitness room with a coloring book, I didn’t always think “I’ll do what my mom does” when I’m older but there definitely was a SEED planted within me the power of fitness, connection, & community.

I went to school for Health & Physical Education, which I LOVED and helped me find my passion for teaching health/fitness, but I knew I wanted to be able to be on the MOVE and I had so many ideas to do my own thing.

I had an itch for a schedule that may not be ideal for everyone’s taste. I saw my mom get up  and out the door at 6am to get to a client’s home before they go to work, come back & get us to school, and then head out again for her night classes & clients.

I’ve learned the true meaning of connection by watching her my whole life & she inspires me daily to not only push hard in the gym, but inspire & impact those around me.

I can truly say that “I’ve turned into my mother” as I now head out the door by 6am to get to a client’s house to train them before they go to work, then head to the gym for a few hours of back-to-back clients, head home for food after I get my own workout in, hit the computer for a few hours, & then head back out for my night classes and clients…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Because of my mom harnessing her true passion & power, I confidently can harness mine which is why we wanted to create a fun partner workout for you all thanks to my friends at Athleta inspiring all women to own the POWER OF SHE.

You will complete 5 rounds of this #TUBEHIIT workout! All you need is tubing, yourself, & a fierce partner to workout with! ;] (aka. mamacakes).

Each partner completes the movements, for example, partner 1 will wall sit while partner 2 does the tricep extensions. Once partner 2 does their tricep extensions, they now swap and do the wall sit while partner 1 does their tricep extensions.

Once you’ve both completed the tubing move, you do 30 seconds of your HIIT move together, then repeat for the next movements!

  1. WALL SIT WITH TRICEP EXTENSIONS X 20 REPS
  2. 30 SECONDS CRISS-CROSS SQUAT JUMPS
  3. PLANK + BICEP CURLS X 20 REPS
  4. 30 SECONDS SKATERS
  5. WALL SIT WITH SKIER JUMPS X 20 REPS
  6. 30 SECONDS PLANK HIGH-FIVES
