Hi everyone! How are you!? Happy Friday!!
Today I wanted to recap you on an AMAZING weekend that I had 1 week ago that was truly life changing.
Many of you may know, but if you don’t know, my new Boss is my long time Mentor, Todd Durkin. Todd is known in the fitness industry for his outstanding work, dedication to fitness, owner of one of the Top 10 gyms in the Country — Fitness Quest 10 (my new workplace!), Under Armour Trainer, and truly inspiring greatness everyday through books, seminars, workouts, & mentorships.
Growing up my mom would have the IMPACT! Body Plan sitting on her desk and I remember using exercises from it for one of my PE projects in college.
After I learned more about Todd — I was instantly inspired by his words & energy.
He hosted his 15th Mentorship program last weekend at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in California and I was honored to not only sit in on some amazing talks but I was also asked to speak on Advanced Marketing Strategies through Instagram.
There were 62 Fitness Professionals from all over the World who came to the Mentorship, all with super interesting stories.
In that room, you felt no judgement, no comparing, no competitiveness — just straight up happiness & partnership as we all got to know and help one another. Pretty awesome.
One of the biggest lessons that I learned over the weekend was how to be a LIGHTHOUSE. As Todd says…a lighthouse has one job — to guide ships into shore.
I highly recommend watching Todd’s video here on “Be A Lighthouse”.
Are you being a lighthouse?
Is your light bright enough to guide ships in to shore?
Are you living your true purpose and letting that light inside of you SHINE?
It’s truly a deep question when you start to answer your “Why” in life & it’s something that all of us took seriously as we sat & wrote down our thoughts on paper.
When you’re around such positive energy you can truly be taken to another level. I’m honored to have had the opportunity to learn with the other 62 fitness pro’s & be a part of the FQ10 Team!
Take a few minutes to ask yourself your “why” and if you’re lighthouse is shining out to those who need it. Don’t dim your light just because you’re afraid of what other people will think.
I almost didn’t start blogging because I was afraid of what other people would think of me sharing recipes and fitness — but now I look back after 6 years of blogging and think to myself..wow, how different my life would be if I ever let someone else dim my light 6 years ago.
Keep moving forward & creating #IMPACT ya’ll!
Be true to you,
