Why I Incorporate Yoga Into My Weekly Routine & Yoga Club Box Review

Happy Thursday, friends! Today I’m going to start off with a favorite quote of mine regarding gratitude.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, & creates vision for tomorrow.” – Melody Beattie

Dang…let that one sink in.

Yoga has been something that I’ve loved for years now. I never really understood the benefits to it before I truly started to make it part of my weekly practice and really finding gratitude in that practice.

Just as lifting weights & doing some type of cardiovascular exercise are important for overall health….adding in yoga which taps into mobility, strength, stretch, & mental clarity can only ENHANCE your overall wellness.

All of these pieces fit into your puzzle of doing what works for you and taking care of yourself.

What good is being able to do 20 pull ups if you can’t bend forward without pain because you’re so tight and locked up?

I’ve been able to commit to yoga 1 day a week at a local class and I look so forward to it each week…not only for the increase in flexibility, muscle strength, improved blood flow, or protection from injury…BUT for the mental clarity.

I find that as much as yoga is physical, it’s also mental, and I take it as a time to be grateful for my body and what my body can do.

For that hour to an hour and a half in class you don’t need to be anywhere else…you just need to show up for yourself and your body.

What an amazing feeling, right?

If I’m being 100% honest (as always) I also love being bare foot and in my favorite yoga clothes as well. I have certain outfits I wear to weight train and then those certain ones you kinda just save off to the side for the yoga flow day. Ya feel me?

A few months back my friends at Yoga Club sent over their awesome yoga themed box for me to try out and let’s just say I instantly fell in love.

Not only did I love my outfit in the box…but I’ve literally worn the pants & top to class…almost every week. Not sure if everyone around me is starting to notice? ;]
