  • I’ve struggled during the holidays in the past.

I’ve been the person that thought I had to workout ONLY to offset the food later that day, instead of just moving for enjoyment.

In my early 20’s I was so afraid to go off of my “plan” that I would take the smallest servings even when I was hungry enough for more & even bringing my own meal to a wedding once. Not because of allergies ... but because of fear of “letting go” and just enjoying.

Anxiety creeps in & the feeling of wanting to be in control takes over.

I get it. I’ve been there. It can get easier.

You’ve been working hard & then you see pie, wine, mashed potatoes (my personal favorite), & you think you can’t enjoy it without feeling regret or that you’ll completely fall off.

I’m here to tell you to 1) take a deep breath ☺️ & 2) enjoying these foods on thanksgiving will not ruin you.

It’s just like any other day of the week...finding that balance of nutrients throughout your day.
It’s knowing that you can workout that day [or not] because maybe you want some “me time” and mindfulness before you start cooking for the family.

It’s knowing that you can truly enjoy the piece of pie without putting yourself into an extreme by feeling that you need to eat the whole pie at once.

It’s about making memories & not making extremes for yourself in either direction.

I’ve been on both ends... Not eating enough because of the fear of ruining progress or being “off” or also eating too much because of the rule of only allowing myself to have this “one” day.

Just like any other day, it’s finding a balance of enjoying all the things knowing that you can have these any time of the year & still move forward.

Enjoy the pie, don’t worry about doing 100 burpees to burn anything off, move if you want to because a walk, lift, or bike ride feels good for the mind & soul, & focus on the moments because they go by way too fast. 💛
