Hey friends, happy Tuesday! Wanted to first start off by saying that my prayers are going out to those in Vegas. Gosh, I was just there a few months back with my mom & it’s crazy to think that this stuff can go on in this world. Praying for peace everywhere.
Today I’ll hopefully put a “smile” on your face….literally…with some chat about dental health!
Most of my posts usually hit on food, fitness, & life but today we’re chatting another area of your overall health, dental hygiene, with a killer giveaway to go with it from my friends at Oral-B.
Although I talk a lot about fitness & food on my blog, dental hygiene is a huge part of your overall health and also has been a huge part of me taking care of myself over the years.
Let’s rewind about….15 years when little Kasey was in 8th grade and heard the dreaded news…”you need braces.” (dang I wish I had those pictures!)
You see, me & teeth have had a rough relationship over the years & honestly it’s something I was super self-conscious about…and still sometimes struggle with.
I had very prominent vampire teeth that were nowhere near straight & I also have some discoloration on all of my teeth that I couldn’t control.
I went through the typical years of the expander to the rubber bands that I was always afraid of them snapping, & the lovely blue color I used to pick to decorate the braces! Ya feel me?
After I got the braces off, I then got bonding out on my top 6 teeth that would basically help level out the coloring on my front teeth. Since then I’ve had them updated since they aren’t a forever type thing.
Now with that comes a ton of visits to the dentist…and I truly LOVE my dentist & his team! They are some of the people you grow up in front of as I’ve literally gone to them since I was young.
My dental hygienist, Meg, is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever known and I value her opinion always with my teeth, as she knows what I’ve gone through just to get them where they are today.
She is constantly on me about not only flossing but using an electric toothbrush.
I was super consistent with it for years but then got a bit lazy & went back into a normal toothbrush. Unfortunately, because of my bonding on my front teeth, a “regular” toothbrush just won’t cut it for me. It doesn’t get into my deeper areas above my bonding on my front teeth & I was dealing with bleeding gums & inflammation because of it.
When I go home to Pittsburgh, I have my check ups with Meg & she looked at me a few weeks ago as she dug into my gums with floss (or at least that’s what it feels like! Ha) and said…are you still using an electric toothbrush? With that look of … she kind of already knows the answer?
With that, she and my dentist reminded about the importance of using a toothbrush like Oral-B to really get my mouth back to health.
Since using it, my best friend even said to me the weekend of her wedding, “Kase, your teeth look really white! What are you doing?” And my response was….my power toothbrush! I swear the power of it blasts away stains unlike a normal brush.
For today, I’m so pumped to be able to offer you all from my friends at Oral-B the exact Genuis Pro 8000 (this thing is SO legit!) that I use so you can take your dental hygiene to the next level.
