HELLO MY FRIENDS! Gosh — where has the time gone!?

I literally penciled into my planner UPDATE BLOG and circled it 20 times to make sure I got an hour to get some typing done today! Moving will surely take up all of your free time – hellooo hanging pictures.

It has been a bit hectic as we were in between two apartments for a while but now we’ve got a nice little home feelin’ happening in our new place!

My best friend from home, Sarah, planned a while ago to make a trip out here to visit us 3 weeks after we moved and before I knew it – she was here! It was so awesome to have her here our first weekend in our new place to help me decorate & make sure everything had a good vibe.

As well as HGTV happening in our living room, we also got to enjoy the weather, enjoy some local eats, & also just enjoy each others company.

I scooped her up bright & early on Friday at the Boston airport where we, of course, headed right to breakfast.

By the way – have you added me on Snapchat yet!? Find me @Powercakes!!

We originally had another place in mind but they weren’t open yet so we ended up at the City Table in Boston.IMG_8967

I had a delicious bacon and veggie omelet with potatoes and whole wheat toast and Sarah had a vanilla waffle – SO good.

The rest of the day we spent hanging out & decorating – we were both pooped from a busy week and needed a little recharging of the batteries.

Even though Corey & I aren’t married yet (1 more year on July 3rd aka my bday as well), my Aunt and sister-in-law got us cute initials when we got engaged so I couldn’t help but hang them up!

The apartment was really starting to come together.

Mostly everything you see is from Hobby Lobby – which is now like 15 minutes away (thumbs up!).

Dinner was delicious that night if I do say so myself ;] taco friday, anyone?

All ingredients brought to you by my friend, Trader Joes.

Turkey meat browned up then added 3/4 of a jar of Pineapple Salsa and 1/3 of a Taco Seasoning packet. It made the meat sweet and spicy and I will definitely be making this again.

Served in Taco Shells with avocado and corn/blackbeans on the side.

The next day we headed to some local soccer games to meet some of the athletes I’ll be working with. After that, we hit up the ocean with some kayaks for some functional fitness that afternoon.

The beauty of being surrounded by the ocean is being able to get outdoors.

The waves were a bit choppy…which led me to falling out of my kayak…twice.

Sarah and I were crying we were laughing so hard.

It ended up being a crazy workout with the waves being so choppy which led to some hungry stomachs.

We went up the street to a local cafe to grab some eats. I got a curry chicken salad sandwich on toasted gluten free homemade bread – oh em geeeeeee.

We then got spruced up a bit later on to head to dinner with Coreycakes.

I got a warm spinach salad with shrimp, feta, & a tomato dressing.

Aren’t my dinner dates cute?

We ended up going to a local concert going on by the water to finish out the night. The next morning was Sunday that only can mean one thing…PANCAKES!

IMG_8989

Chocolate Chip Pancakes made with a mix of AboutTime protein powder & a buckwheat mix.

From there, Sarah and I headed to the gym for some upper body.

We added in these “around the world” raises which utilize your whole shoulder. I love these!

After we cleaned up, we spent the day walking around local shops before grabbing some dinner. Surprise surprise it was Mexican food again! We can’t get enough.

Homemade guac, salsa, & chips for a starter before I got a pulled pork salad. We also both enjoyed some fruit margaritas that we’re so refreshing.

The next picture basically sums up our weekend…tons of laughs.

A little background to this picture – the sun was setting and we found an awesome place for a photo opp. There was a gentleman standing there that looked like he would be willing to take our picture. He ended up being a party planner who was quite funny and had us doing some not-so-normal goofy pictures. We couldn’t stop laughing over this experience and it may be a memory we will always remember! hahah You never know who you will meet in life.

All in all – awesome weekend with my girl Sarah. We always know how to have a good time together and just enjoy life. Having a little bit of home with me was a perfect way to spend the weekend.

Hope you have a great rest of your day guys & be true to you!
