Good morning all! Can you believe it’s already Thursday? This week I’ve been so productive that it’s flying by!

While running errands yesterday, I stopped to enjoy an afternoon pick-me-up of a raw carrot, parsley, lemon, & celery juice! I’ve actually swapped coffee all week for green tea in the morning to really give my body a little break from caffeine, which is not the easiest because I am a coff lover BUT my body is thanking me for this break.

Also, apparently yesterday was National Siblings Day. Before I posted this, I actually googled to make sure because I was basically copying off of others who were posting adorable sibling pictures Winking smile So, I wanted to give a special instagram shout out to my broski Philip for National Siblings Day!

On to DAY FOUR of #RESTWEEK

Morning Me Time

Today, we’re repeating yesterday’s “Morning Me Time” exercise: Believe in Your Bod. So, get your booty back to that mirror. Then, we’re going to make an awesome smoothie, courtesy of moi. I’ll meet you back here after you finish believing in your bod. We’re off to do it too!

Green Apple SoulPOWER Smoothie

Throughout this week, we are not only nourishing our minds but our bodies as well. I hope you’re enjoying your Apple Pie Power Cleanser as a way to relieve our bodies of toxins and help our digestive track get squeaky clean!

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite ways to keep my gut happy, and that’s with a green smoothie! Why a “green” smoothie, you might ask? Well, incorporating greens into our already-nutrient-packed smoothies increases our green intake throughout the day. This is a great way to add the nutrients of greens without realizing they are there – with exception of the visible beautiful color, of course.

I prefer adding frozen spinach instead of ice for a thicker consistency but feel free to add ice cubes and raw spinach if you’d like. Another added benefit of smoothies is that the blender basically does all of the work for us. When we drink our smoothies (or eat…I like to make my smoothies thick and eat them with a spoon), the blending process helps release the nutrients that are locked the food. This allows us to faster absorption the nutrients into our bodies! Along with my daily #POWERbowl, I try to incorporate a daily green smoothie.

RestWeekDay4

  • 1 apple, washed & cored
  • 1 cup frozen spinach
  • 1 cup of liquid
  • 1 cup water, almond milk, coconut milk, milk of choice
  • 1 Tbsp flaxseeds or ground flax
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ Tbsp spirulina (optional, but gives you extra nutrients & greens!)
  • 1 scoop plant-Based protein powder (we love Vega and Life’s Basics)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • 10 drops liquid stevia or sweetener of choice

Directions

  • Wash & core your apple (keep the skin on for extra power & fiber!)
  • Blend all ingredients in a blender.
  • Feel free to add more liquid depending on how thick you want it.

This Green Apple Pie Smoothie would be a perfect meal any time of the day, not only during #RESTWEEK, but your everyday life! Blending our greens into the smoothie is always a great way to get kids to eat their greens discretely. I know your body will thank you for this nutrient packed nourishment.

RESTweet Mantra!

Can we say YUM? Killer recipe, Kasey! It’s Heather here, now.

So often, when we encounter an obstacle, we want to “get over it” instead of experience it. What if you decided to EXPERIENCE the obstacle and face it head-on? This might seem scary to you, but that’s okay. In fact, that is GOOD. Did we ever grow as people from things that make us comfortable? Think about people you know or admire that have achieved some level of success. All of them have one thing in common: they experienced an obstacle (or likely, many obstacles) that they decided to experience fully. When we experience obstacles, we’re opening ourselves up to ask the Universe, “What can I learn from this?”

#RESTWEEK is a great example of this. You might be experiencing some anxiety, fear, or guilt around not working out. Since you committed to #RESTWEEK, you have committed to deal with this anxiety, fear, and guilt. Absorb it. Feel it. Then, ask Life what you can learn from this obstacle. There is always a lesson if you are open to learning one. So, take this mantra with you today and ROCK your obstacles.

When a large group of people come together with a positive and healing-based intention, they have a great capacity to inspire others and impact other people in a big way. Don’t let this message stop here. We need you to share this beautiful message. Tweet it with the #RESTWEEK hash tag. Share it on your Facebook wall. Instagram it. Give your followers an excuse to fall in love with their bodies too.

Stay lovely and #beTRUEtoYOU,
