Happy Friday, all! I hope you’re having an awesome week! Thank you for all the great comments on yesterday’s post about Working Out When Sick? It’s so nice to see that I’ve been able to inspire people just based on my own stories and help YOU hopefully use them in a way that works for you.

I’m pumped today to chat a bit about another way to keep yourself thriving & kicking —> veggies, since they are one of my favorite foods that I try to eat daily! Getting in adequate amount of “color” in our diets can be challenging, especially during this time of the year,

I partner up with FitFluential on a ton of topics not only regarding fitness & wellness, but food as well! They partnered up with SUBWAY & The American Heart Association to bring to light a new initiative called +color.

In partnership with SUBWAY, the American Heart Association (AHA) recently launched an initiative called +color, focusing on the positive health impact of fruits and vegetables.

This ongoing initiative will encourage Americans to add more fruits and vegetables to their diet and better understand the critical health benefits this change can mean.

I happen to love this idea for a few reasons…

  1. I train youth athletes and the number one issue the parents have with their kids is that they definitely aren’t getting in enough veggies.
  2. I’m a huge advocate of “eating the rainbow” and have been for years due to the benefits of increasing our daily vitamins naturally.
  3. I’m a fan of SUBWAY and even when coaching soccer and we had to pick a place to stop on our way back from an away game, Subway was one of the better options in my opinion for a team of 30 8th graders. (Can you imagine the looks on their faces when our whole bus unloaded and walked in?!)

It’s about showing America how easy it is to get more of these vital foods into their diet each day and how easy it is to share this information everywhere they go with everyone they know. This information has the power to help save lives.”

It’s so true! As someone who does believe in balance and enjoying foods/life, it’s also important to have that “strong foundation” that I call it to support your immune system, workouts, training, sports, & life in general.

Whenever I’m on the go…which is every day…if I don’t have food prepped I look to a place like Subway to grab a quick meal.

I like to go to places that offer larger veggie options so I can get in some servings. I’ve also loved the addition of “no antibiotics added” at Subway for their chicken – yay!

My order is usually the same: Turkey, guacamole, lettuce, spinach, tomato, red onion, black olives, & mustard … Toasted! ;]

SUBWAY offers 10 varieties of vegetables, from cucumbers to spinach to green peppers, helping guests make their subs more colorful and fill up with fuel.

Just by adding an extra cup of color to your diet everyday can help improve the health of all Americans.  SUBWAY has millions of handcrafted sandwich combinations to create your own custom sandwich or salad, which can offer up at least two extra servings of vegetables to your diet.

So awesome to hear that some positive changes are being made in fast food. You can check out the hashtag #addcolor on social media or head [here] to learn more!

Thank you FitFluential & SUBWAY for letting me chat about this topic and bringing some good news to light.

Be true to you,

xo Kasey
