If you didn’t see the post yesterday and keeping with the positivity, as always, my girls from last weeks High School event are hosting their own #BODYpeace Week in their school!  I am so glad that they are taking the step to spread positive body image with their fellow students.

They have a theme each day of this week! Monday was #MakeuplessMonday & yesterday was #TrueToYouTuesday where you post a favorite quote.

I wanted to show my support & if you want to too, feel free to follow them at @NH_GirlPower. Today I wanted to share with you guys one of my favorite quotes that I shared last week with the girls.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Something that I’ve learned, and that I share with others, is that your journey truly starts with a single step. Not only as an infant do we take that first step to begin our journey through life, but with each new day we have the choice to take that first step into a new path.

Is every first step a comfortable one? Absolutely not. Sometimes it feels like you’re about to step onto a porcupine….right? BUT sometimes that porcupine turns into a stepping stone (I’m getting all Disney on us here) to propel you into your future.

Ps…can we just take a hot second to see how adorable they are as babies?

Oh my gosh…only if they stayed like that forever I would totally want one! Anywayyy – back to regularly schedule programming…

Some of the girls last week came up to the front of the room to share letters that we wrote to our bodies and they looked at me & said, oh my gosh I’m so nervous. I gave each and everyone of them a hug, looked at them and said…you’ve got to step into that uncomfortable and hang out there for a few seconds…accept that you feel this way…and then move through that feeling that is holding you back.

Once you get past your first step…you can truly move into your second step with more confidence knowing that you took the initiative to do so.

I think this quote is relatable to so many situations, each correlating with our own lives.

I challenge you to take a first step…whether it’s into a new job, new experience, new trip, or new relationship…and before you know it you will inspire others to do the same just by them seeing you! You never know who you are inspiring.

Keep up your great work out there everyone! You inspire me daily.

Be true to you,

xo Kasey

Any story to share about taking a first step into a new situation?

Or maybe about a porcupine? I mean hey, be true to you!
